DEI Work
Over the past 16 years, my career has been deeply rooted in advancing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) across educational and athletic settings. I’ve consistently championed initiatives that center identity, elevate marginalized voices, and foster belonging—both in classrooms and on the field.
My work has included serving as an advisor and ally for the Middle School Gay-Straight Alliance, helping create safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ youth. I developed a High School Well-Being course with a strong focus on identity and the LGBTQIA+ community, and co-created a three-year identity curriculum for Grades 6–8 that empowers students to engage in meaningful conversations about equity and justice.
In recent years, my focus has expanded to include gender equity in sport. As a national facilitator with Canadian Women & Sport, I lead workshops and consult with sport organizations across the country to build inclusive, gender-equitable environments. I also serve as the DEI Advisor for Varsity Athletics at George Brown College, where I implement training, programming, and support initiatives that promote equity and inclusion for women, BIPOC, LGBTQ2S+, and other equity-deserving student-athletes.
